Sorry for hijacking the thread but I'm just curious how much time is consumed adding support for these games after files are posted for study? I was wondering if files for xcom are posted would it take as long as Marvel Heroes which had files posted way back and is still not supported.

Hi,

Marvel Heroes is a special case - unlike other games, this game has modified TFC system. Usually I'm finding changes in executable (in disassembly) and making similar changes in umodel. With TFC it's completely different - I can't find the code in executable. It's like looking for piece of code which I don't know how it looks like, inside 30-40Mb of binary data. It's extremely difficult. I've spent for Marvel Heroes much more time than for all other games in this year together, and I'm still having difficulties in supposing and understanding their changes. Perhaps they have layered compression in TFC file, and I don't know which layer is pointed by Texture2D object.

Most likely XCOM would require 1-2 hours of work, in comparison to a few full working days I already spent to Marvel Heroes. Who can decide - should I support a few more games, or I must work on texture support for single game instead?

As probably you know, I left Ubisoft in August. After that I didn't work for a month. That was terrible financial time for my family. Right now I'm working on a job with per-hour payment basis. I'm trying to recover from my family situation as fast as I can - I'm working 10-12 hours per day, and spending remaining time with my family. There's no time for umodel left for the moment. May be I could find 1-2 hours per week to support some nice game. I'm planning to relax my work a bit after November, so perhaps I'll have more time for hobby projects then.

I've got to ask since I'm stumped.

Does anyone know in what package the alien heads are? I found the humans, I found the sectoids but for the love of me I can't find the standard outsider heads anywhere.

The weird part is that the textures seem to be there, just no meshes.

Eh, is it possible that the alien heads use some completely weird format? Since I can't even seem to be able to rip them out.

I can't find even humans heads. Does anybody know which packages are containing them?
