Dead By Daylight supported, no tag needed. Animations do not work.

Animations work, but when loading animations have to skip all with OFFSET in it's name, also all CM_LookAt_*.uasset from Locomotion folder.

Does anyone knows which engine version is used for this game? Just need it to complete the compatibility table.

Why are you unpacking pak files?

How did you export the animations? When selecting a mesh and an animation and pressing Ctrl + X, it just exports the mesh but not the animation. Also, I can export the character meshes fine, but not any of the environmental props (probably static meshes).

Please watch video tutorials about UE4 animation - check the first post in this thread.

Hi, Gildor

Dead by Daylight PTB got an update today, usually umodel works with it but this time they've changed something.

Textures seem to work fine, have had no issues with them. However, models (static / skeleton) crash umodel, here is 3 error messages from UE4.11, 12, and 17 (I have tried all, even umodel detected versions)
Quote

I think umodel might need an update to support this? Tongue

Thanks

Eek .. not for this game. Not worth spending any time with it, sorry. Most of UE4 games which are supported by umodel, works "as is". Some games requires custom code (like this one after update). Some of them got this support - like "Gears of War 4", "Paragon", "Ark Survival Evolved". Good quality AAA games.

Came here with the same issue Sad Gildor they added a ton of content in PTB.. I was planning on making custom animations with those models Sad

From what i see the PTB update replaced the single Pak file with 40 Pak chunks.. and the extractors i tried to use including Umodel all throw similar error

" Error: the compressed zlib/deflate input is wrong or incomplete (-3)
Info:  algorithm   1
       offset      0000000000000049
       input size  0x0000000000001a36 6710
       output size 0x000000000000b183 45443
       result      0xffffffffffffffff -1

Error: the uncompressed data (-1) is bigger than the allocated buffer (45443)"

Hope they revert to the single pak file when they release final version of update in June..

i was able to unpack the pakchunks from latest PTB update with Quickbms now the Umodel viewer scans versions without throwing error. but if try to extract skeletal mesh it throws the following error.

Error: Wrong Tag in Package: CDCDCDCD
FPackageFileSummary<<:Ver=0/0 <- UnPackage::UnPackage:unpackhere/David/Material/Outfit002/MI_DKTorso002.uasset, ver=100000/0, game=0 <- UnPackage::LoadPackage:/Game/Characters/Campers/David/Material/Outfit002/MI_DKTorso002 <- UnPackage::CreateImport:unpackhere/David/Model/Torsos/DK_Torso002_REF.uasset:1 <- UnPackage::SerializeUObject <- FSkeletalMaterial<< <- TArray::Serialize:0/1 <- USkeletalMesh4::Serialize <- LoadObject:SkeletalMesh4'DK_Torso002_REF.DK_Torso002_REF', pos=1E2D, ver=505/0 (unversioned), game=ue4.13 <- UObject::EndLoad <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main:umodel_build=666

EDIT:
For now im able to extract the models although i have to open Umodel on specific folder of character for it to not throw errors..a bit tedious but eitehr ways thanks Gildor.

You guys showed me different errors for the same game. charlesberg - that umodel crashes when opening uasset. Skemooo - I suppose it crashed before opening the pak file, otherwise why did you extract pak files? Skemooo - your information is very unclear, I did not understand anything at all.

Gildor sorry I should have put the context before i posted those.

I had got the same error as charles when i tried to use umodel without unpaking the pakfiles for PTB update. whatever error he quoted i got the same thing.

So as a workaround I started looking for alternatives to unpak the pak files and then open them with umodel. I used the quickbms and it somewhat unpaked most of the content although it crashed a lot. after that I used your Umodel for the complete unpak folder as path. when I hit scan content the umodel would throw the error i quoted in my last post and crash.. So instead of using the entire unpak folder i browsed to the clown Killers Model folder and use umodel to unpak only his files that worked mostly.

There is ton of content they pushed So wanted to extract some of them so i can use them for short animations.

Yeah getting a Zlib compression error when viewing any sort of DbD model after updating to PTB. Checked the PAK files and they're no longer in a single PAK format and are now in chunks. Might just be for PTB temporarily, but I've never played PTB until now. Just figured Id see if I could extract the new meshes from the game. Something that should be looked into, because I'm dying to rip some of the new models from the game.
