I don't understand you.
There is no client you have to rip the game disc.
Just wait for it to come to the us in 2014 and then you can rent it.

Is there a tutorial on how to rip from a disc? :|

you need a modded ps3.
I think there might be linux tools to rip them also if you have a blueray drive.

http://forum.redump.org/topic/12699/ps3-dumping-instructions/

to do it from pc looks like you need one of these drives.
- Only certain drives (Mediatek chipset, +6 offset) are able to detect PS3 game discs, including: SAMSUNG DVDWBD SH-B083L, ASUS BC-08B1LT, LITE-ON iHBS112

Excuse me, but I need some help. I want to extract everything, yes, e v e r y t h i n g from DOD3's game. However, I don't know how to start. I'm completely new about this kind of stuff. I wanna extract the audio from Zero, weapons, the pictures, maps and learn how to extract the models and edit them to produce my own pictures. Oh yes, I'll use PC for extraction. Someone could help me? Thanks anyway!

Use "BatchExporter".

Post by: gilga777 on February 04, 2014, 02:25
Use "BatchExporter".

Thanks for your help Gildor, but didn't work here. I've used the version for PhotoShop CS6. Just appear a new window with "It cannot read the format".

The files are in .xxx, different from the normal .se .dat .pkg and other files.

Example:
3060BSP.XXX
5040_DEMODOOR.XXX
ALLMESSAGE_SF.XXX
MUSIC_BOSS_B01A_B_SCD.XXX

I was trying to use Umodel, however, I've seen two versions of tutorials. One with broken pictures and other was from here. But the part of PATH has a different script, so I just don't want to mess up with my PC. Sorry for being a stubborn here.

Everything you needed is in xxx files. You shouldn't try to open them in Photoshop etc - these files are in internal Unreal engine 3 format. Check these links, hopefully they'll be useful for you:

Extraction of this seems to no longer work, was support for this removed? I can see that it's still in the compatibility list but I'm not finding a way to get it to work, just gives an error about the file possibly being encrypted.

If anyone has an older version of UE Viewer with it working then please let me know.

I've never removed support for any game. If older umodel worked with these files, and newer - not, probably this is a bug in umodel. Link to older versions is in FAQ.

Questions, please answer.

- What error do you have?

- Didn't game got any update recently?

- Did you get it working with older UModel by yourself?

The error I get is FPackageFileSummary<<:Ver=0/0 <- UnPackage::UnPackage:NPUB31251/USRDIR/SQEX03GAME/COOKEDPS3/STARTUP.XXX, ver=100000/0, game=0 <- UnPackage::LoadPackage:startup_xxx <- UnPackage::CreateImport:NPUB31251/USRDIR/SQEX03GAME/COOKEDPS3/BG30_FOR_30_MAP_COLORTEST.XXX:145 <- UnPackage::SerializeUObject <- TArray::Serialize:0/3 <- SerializeFMaterialResource <- LoadObject:Material3'BG30_FOR_30_MAP_COLORTEST.M_BG30_seaflow_0000', pos=10FABC, ver=860/0, game=ue3 <- UObject::EndLoad <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main:umodel_build=693

I'm not entirely sure if it ever worked on the newer version of the game, but there was apparently three patches released for this game. I have the latest version straight from the PSN servers.

I was unsure whether it worked on older versions, I haven't tried to do anything with this game until now.

You've copy-pasted message incorrectly, some important information is missing. You should use "Copy" button on the error dialog popup.

This error usually means file encryption. In recent UModel I've added explanation, error message will look a little bit different.

Hi, so I decided to try extracting sound files from this game, so I installed RPCS3 on my computer to install Drakengard 3 and its major DLC (PKG + RAP) on. However, I've run into encryption issues with the XXX files. Do I need a key for this or something?

*** ERROR: Wrong tag in package (42444553). Probably the file is encrypted.
FPackageFileSummary<<:Ver=0/0 <- UnPackage::UnPackage:VO_GAMEVOICE_MKH_BOSS_VOICE_0010_MKH_SCD.XXX, ver=100000/0, game=0 <- UnPackage::LoadPackage:VO_GAMEVOICE_MKH_BOSS_VOICE_0010_MKH_SCD.XXX <- Main:umodel_build=730

(I believe the sound files are in the COOKEDSOUND folder)

EDIT: Some more errors

******** VO_M0020_E0020_GM_M0020_E0020_GM_0280_ONE_SCD ********
*** ERROR: Wrong tag in package (42444553). Probably the file is encrypted.

Same number, 42444553, what's the deal? How do I get around this?

I tried drag n drop, as well as cmd options but no luck.

Title: Re: Drakengard 3
Post by: Gildor on May 11, 2018, 23:42
This might be a custom package format, or even non-package file. Tag "42444553" (hexadecimal value) matches "SEDB" in text form.

Title: Re: Drakengard 3
Post by: Baron Vla on May 12, 2018, 00:40
Hmmm... Is there a list of PS3 tags Umodel (in its current build) will do? What has been your run ins with this SEDB tag so far? My Googling of SEDB and PS3 files only found some Githubs and this Xentax post (http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7862&hilit=Chroxx&start=15).

I checked another .xxx file that does work with Umodel and the first characters (I believe this is the tag?) read 9E2A83C1 which was just some gibberish in the hex editor.

So, assuming this is a non-standard package or not really a package, are there alternative methods I can try to crack these kinds of files open?

This IS an Unreal package, and umodel is intended to work with SUCH files.
Most likely SEDB are not packages at all, just saved with the same extension as unreal packages. You should ignore such files.

Ugh I really wanted to dig out some of the sound files from that game. Welp, gotta pray that Dark Lord Taro remasters the games and brings them to PC (and hope for the best in that case).

...Actually, there may be a VERY off chance that these SEDB files I’m trying to crack are IN FACT the individual (!) sound tracks I’m looking for themselves (these are VO files I’m going after, they have VO in their name) rather than a package per se. Have you dealt with .xxx “packages” that are in fact single files before? What are the common sound formats in ps3 games using UE3?

No idea about PS3 audio formats, sorry. Anyway, umodel exports anything only when data is in unreal format.

Woah, it actually worked...?

I just turned one of those VO .xxx files into a .wav and I was able to play it on my computer. Huh. That was surprisingly easy.

Hi I have a different issue now, I've decided to try exporting some of the models to Blender.

However, I ran into the UV map problem. For reference, the UV map here:
Different colors for different UV channels it seems

When I export it to Blender, using the psk tools from here (https://github.com/Befzz/blender3d_import_psk_psa), I get this instead: (https://i.imgur.com/vqWTTlT.png)

That only the first channel is used is one thing, but the UV channels from the other materials aren't imported into Blender. Is there any way to work around this problem? I only use Blender though since I already used up my trial for 3ds Max and I don't want to buy it.

I used build 730 of UModel if that helps.

It doesn't matter so much which umodel you're using for UE3 game. The only stuff changed recently is "Rocket League" support. Regarding Blender, I have no idea.
