Title: [PC|UE2.0] Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
Post by: huckleberrypie on March 05, 2010, 05:20
Since the compatibility list states that the game wasn't tested with Model Viewer yet, I decided to take it for a spin. I managed to extract a bunch of models from the game using it. Practically all of the needed data (mesh, anims, etc.) were intact, other than the fact that the model was positioned differently from its original orientation in UnrealEd. Here are some pics of my progress with custom models:

Klaus Baudelaire player model extracted as PSK, in Max 2010:

Custom model test using bone data from Klaus; works, but pivot/orientation problems seem to bother me too much:

Tried rotating the model to its proper position, but he's still incorrectly animated, so I decided to post my progress here. Here are some sample meshes that I extracted from the game:

Oh, and if you want to further experiment with it, you may try downloading a demo version of ASoUE:

Oh, didn't notice that, since it's in Russian, and I barely know that language. I actually stumbled upon this when I'm looking for a way to import custom models to Snicket. The only problem is that the player model lies down in mid-air (as seen in my screenshot), instead of standing up. Pivot, maybe, but I tried rotating the model to no avail.
