Title: Huxley
Post by: pixellegolas on February 18, 2009, 15:58
Hi!

I just wonder if I can provide some sample files to see if you can add Huxley? Quite cool models

Try "umodel -list <some file>" and try loading any texture package (in a case, when package contains meshes, use "umodel -nomesh <some file>"). This will allow me to know - whether package and/or texture formats are changed for this game.

Title: Re: Huxley
Post by: pixellegolas on February 18, 2009, 16:32
when i do this inside textures folder:

umodel -nomesh GMC.upk

I get this error:

******** GMC.upk ********

ERROR: Unable to serialize data
FString<< <- FPackageFileSummary<< <- UnPackage::UnPackage:GMC.upk <- Main

Seems I get it no matter what. The weird thing is that the files in the textures folder are like 100-200kb big only

Here is another error from a weapon file. I just used "umodel WP_SNI_A2_100.upk"

******** WP_SNI_A2_100.upk ********

ERROR: assertion failed: H.Tag == PACKAGE_FILE_TAG

FUE3ArchiveReader::PrepareBuffer <- FUE3ArchiveReader::Serialize <- FString<< <- ReadNameTable <- UnPackage::UnPackage:WP_SNI_A2_100.upk <- Main

Well the game is free to play and can be donwloaded here:

http://huxley.webzen.com/PDS/GameDownload/

I can give you my account if you want to, you must be logged in to download it. Or maybe some files? As it is free to play there should be no problem providing files :)

Post by: Gildor on February 19, 2009, 12:25
Thank you, but I don't need it now. I must finish UE3 support (animations, materials), then finish Unreal Championship 2 support (animations), then ... Then I'll check other games.
It looks like Huxley support will be hard to implement.

Thanks Pixellegolas for the links, I downloaded and installed Huxley. It's pretty much useless unless umodel works with it. If you understand Chinese, I recommend if you can get GameAssassin it should allow you to rip the models in the T-Pose, and with the textures. I PAID for a copy of GameAssassin, but I think the developer didn't like me because I don't know Chinese, and I never got my program :(. And I really wanted it. You might have better luck than I.

I used an unpacker on exe and here is the result. i have no idea if it was a success, hehe

I have found a Huxley's file which isn't supported by umodel. That is because umodel used file version to detect game. Umodel used 496/22 before. Now (I have updated umodel again) it uses 496/20..22.
If somebody will find an unsupported file - please tell here about this, and provide the file version. I'm really need help here - I have only 2 packages from this game, and I have no ability to download a full game from Internet just to test model files.
Version can be seen using "-pkginfo" command line option (umodel -pkginfo <package>)

It's likely that extraction of StaticMeshes may come in the future. Gildor doesn't have any plans for it right now. I know because I already asked ;) Gildor is working on other things which are deemed more important right now, like adding more functionality for the renderer.

I was surprised and very thankful too that he decided to add Huxley support. I guess he was inspired by the awesome graphics, and video ;)

Huxley is crazy. The have like 3 different package versions for their game. Very strange indeed.

Huxley has 12 different file versions ;)
UE3 games are usually cooked before release, and all game files uses a single file version. But Huxley is a MMO game (like Lineage2), which is developed now. The Game engine is modified too, so file versions are floating. Future game versions may be unsupported by umodel (it happens with Lineage a few times).

Title: Re: Huxley
Post by: esr911 on May 29, 2009, 17:12
Until the release of Huxley, Gildor has voluntarily disabled support for Huxley in Umodel. This is to protect the game for any adverse public response, and any undue attention. I can assure everyone that it will be fully enabled after the game has been released (not necessarily shipped). It is Gilor's and Umodel's policy not to enable support for games before they have been released.

I know that this isn't great news, but it is very much needed, and shows the great integrity and honesty that Gildor has to support unreal and protect the people who have invested possibly millions to produce a product that we have the luxury of modding. All that we are sacrificing is a little time, nothing more.
Please refer back to the Umodel Tested Support thread for more information

This is actually good news for several reasons...

The main reason is games like Huxley once released most likely get a major update in terms of content and engine build, so it would be a problem of time and understanding from many folks on why they couldn't extract Huxley or view it with Umodel...I mean it's not like everyone understands Extraction and Build of game engines...

So yeah, I don't see an issue with this action...only more of a positive side to it.

I fully agree and understand so no problems here. But you do mean a "western" release because the game is already out in korea.

Title: Re: Huxley
Post by: Ace-Angel on June 01, 2009, 15:43
Most games in Western release get an overhaul, like Neo-Steam for example and Lineage 2, so most likely Gildor is holding out for those versions.

I've decided to enable Huxley (and another one disabled game - Ragnarok Online 2) support in umodel. There are a lot of time elapsed since its implementation, but these games are not yet "released". There are many other online games which are supported by umodel despite of its "beta" state.

Probably umodel's support for these games is already outdated, but I hope it is not :)

Enjoy ...

Enjoy ...

do you have the link for that build please?
