Dude, I wish so much, that I'm sure you can feel it. Umodel can't even read the package format. It's a pity because the models and the animation is great. ..:: ESR ::..

I wonder if cash would help motivate support for this game? Right now i'm doing it "the hard way" with 3d rips. but obviously no animation or anything. Not to mention the textures/uv's are all borked up. So i'm having to redo them from scratch. Having support for this title would save me a LOT of work and would be "cost effective" to pay for such support.

I have implemented support for Blacksite: Area 51 package files. Textures are not yet supported (there is a common issue with all games based on old UE3). I cannot check skeletal meshes - I need a few packages with them to test, but I cannot find any of these files remotely (by ftp) Can you help me a bit - download new umodel, and find skeletal meshes using "-list" command. I need a few files with SkeletalMesh and/or AnimSet objects inside. I need only package names, not files.

I have implemented support for BlackSite: Area 51 SkeletalMesh. Materials and animations are not yet supported - this support requires major updating of umodel to support old UE3 version. I'll make it later. To view packages you should use "-noanim" (and possibly "-notex") command line switches.
Big thanks to SLI_Fallen for sponsorship.

For example, Gears of War for XBox360 uses much older UE3 than PC version. It has major difference in core system.

I have updated umodel with support for older UE3 versions. Textures for this game now should work. Animations are not working.

It's really kind of wierd with this game and the packages. They have the same "characters" in many of the files. Looks like they were arranged episodically, and that they repacked everything needed for that episode or sub-episode into each episode file that particular character appears in. Takes up lots of disk space thats for sure.

It's actually like that in Gears of War 2 as well. They might just be referenced in those files, but I'm not entirely sure.

Really? Hmm, wonder if that has something to do with the map level "streaming" tech in UE3.

This technology is used to speedup level loading, especially when loading from DVD.
