Does anyone happen to know what's the issue with the Mass Effect 3 animations? It worked fine in ME1 and ME2, but whenever i try to import the "collapse weapon" animations in ME3, the parts only wiggle around a little.

There are many cases. Perhaps you're applying animation to a wrong mesh. Perhaps you're applying "additive" animation. Perhaps this animation is intended to work in a different way.

While that is possible, i think it's unlikely. In Mass Effect 1, all animations were stored in an entirely different package. But in ME2 and ME3, each weapon has its own package, with exactly one animation set included. I don't think they'd just put another weapon's animation in there just to piss off the modders (but who knows...). Interestingly, those weapons Bioware converted 1:1 from Mass Effect 2 to 3 work flawlessly, only the new ones in 3 make problems. I don't get a "missing bones" error, so i think animations just work differently in Mass Effect 3.

EDIT: OK got it working. Force AnimSet translation actually did the trick.
