Hi
I love UModel for what it does, but I would like to have my Blender import static meshes that I extracted with UModel.

Tried 2.63, 2.64 and 2.65 of Blender. None of these versions will import a .pskx so I tried renaming extension to .psk and only one time did 2.65 succeed opening the mesh. Ever since the importer script been failing at importing my .psk files (renamed from .pskx).

2.64 error screenshot:

Hi.
Blender psk importer was created by another developer, you'd better ask him to implement StaticMesh support. There should not be too much differences in the script, just support mesh without a skeleton.

I think I found out the error. I had from a previously openend .psk mesh in Blender somehow (by mistake) saved the default scene with some leftovers from that .psk mesh. So every time I openend Blender there was a tiny small armature (just appeared as a single vertex). I found it, deleted it, saved as default scene, and then tried the import proccess all over and then it worked!.

So far so good. Fingers crossed it will stay working.

Okay, i know that this is kinda an old topic, but still...

As for now on version 2.77 of Blender there is an integrated script for importing *.psk and *.psa file formats, but *.pskx files dont import with that script for some reason...

I've found script that DOES import it:
https://github.com/Befzz/blender3d_import_psk_psa

The only problem is its impossible to scale an imported model, what a shame...
Maybe it is possible if combine those scripts, for example add *.pskx file format to the default script from the one i've mentioned...

Okay, another addition Wink
Here is the topic where you can download the script for importing *.pskx, with it you can keep the original *.psk/*.psa file importer script untouched...
Hey, also Scale modifyer is available!

Thank you, I'll insert this link into the UModel's FAQ!

Sorry to necro this post, but my problem is definetly related to this.

I'm using the script from blenderartists provided by comanche to import a .pskx into blender, but it doesnt yield the expected result.

This is how the mesh looks in UE Viewer:

And this is the blender version:

As you can see, there are major differences! The question now is, if this is a problem with the script or the mesh.

Try loading the same psk file into "Skeletal Mesh Editor" (could be found on "download" page). If it will work there, this would mean the problem with Blender script.
Also, a question: the post mentioned by you contains 2 importer scripts - did you try both?
Also it's worth trying a fork of Befzz's script - I found one on github here: https://github.com/RhyCynn/blender3d_import_psk_psa

Viewing the mesh with the skeletal mesh editor works fine, it shows up like in the UE Viewer, just without textures.

I did only try the second script at first, but the first script doesnt even give me and import option, only export as far as i can see....

I came across this thread by chance and want to let anyone reading it know of the impending removal of my Befzz fork and branch. The reason I forked the Befzz importer rather than use my own is no longer relevant.

Here are direct links to each and my .mat file importer and other utilities.
