I want to let everyone know that Xbox360 version of Section8 works with umodel. Textures and Meshes. Animations are currently not supported. This is great news.

UnrealEngine Version: 584.0 Engine: 486808070

Section8 has tremendously cool models check out package:GP_S8GameShared.xxx

Please check new umodel with this game. Possibly animations will be supported now.

I have confirmed that Section8 animations are working. Section8 is fully supported by the new version of umodel  Grin

Cool, has anyone tested the PC version? Should they be different? I am waiting to buy the PC version until I know for sure I can open the packages with umodel.

Hi there, just registered, but lurking around here since a longer time.

I have tested the newest umodel on both the X360 version and PC Beta from Section 8 and it works well.

The only problem I have, is, that the textures are being exported incorrectly. They have a width and height of 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 in the model viewer but exported they are all 64x64.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello.
Thank you for tests.
I think you have exported textures with different flags than viewing. Possibly umodel cannot find a TFC file.

Here's what I did.

I extracted Section 8 Xbox 360 to "G:\Section 8 Xbox 360"
I copied umodel to "G:\Section 8 Xbox 360\S8Game\CookedXenonFinal" and used the following command on the following package:

umodel -extract GP_S8GameShared.xxx

The textures are being extracted as tga files.

What am I doing wrong and how easy is the "fix"?

Greetings,

Maxunit

EDIT: Solved my problem by exporting the textures from the PC Beta packages...

Possibly but who knows. I'm just going to get both to see, if any difference as well.

Erm...maybe not..

Now it exports way less content as it has done before...only 43 textures instead of a shitload...missing all textures from the armors, weapons etc...

It shows an error tho..

Ok, I understand ...
Packages for this game are cooked incorrectly.
I think I'll disable new code. Low-res textures are better than crash ...
