The game is supported.
Override UE4 - 4.13

This has changed since it went to 4.14 and now the explorer crashes when opening meshes or trying to export them. Any chance you can take a look? What would you need to update?

Try different engine versions. Check "build.version" file.

It says Version 4.13 in the build.version but none of the models are loading in the viewer, and if I try to run a content scan, it crashes... Anything I can send or show you to make more sense of it?

Please send me any file which crashes UModel. I'll check if this is regression in UModel or custom package format.

If I load the files using the 4.13 override (the build appears to be 4.13.1) then everything I try to open comes up with the usual viewing window, but with nothing but  "there's no visual object loaded now. Press <o> to load a different package". But then if I open it with the override set to 4.14 I get this error pop up:

"UnPackage::CreateExport:/F13Virtual/Content/Characters/Counselors/Athlete/Mesh/Skeletal/Counselor_Female_Athlete.uasset:4 <- UnPackage::SerializeUObject <- TArray::Serialize:8/17 <- USkeletalMesh4::Serialize <- LoadObject:SkeletalMesh4'Counselor_Female_Athlete.Counselor_Female_Athlete', pos=A496, ver=508/0 (unversioned), game=ue4.14 <- UObject::EndLoad <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main:umodel_version=580"

The weird thing is, I can open most of the textures without issue in the .14 override, and can apparently do the content scan, which I can't with the .13 in spite of the build saying what it does.

Did you use UModel before? Did you read the message you copied here?
Try using Tools | Scan content to find meshes etc. And using 4.14 is definitely wrong here.

I ran Umodel using the Unreal 4.13 override and went Tools/Scan Content, but the application crashed to this:

And if I try to export files I know have skeletal meshes based on previous searches, the problem mentioned in the post above occurs. Nothing is exported and if I try to view the model nothing appears. I've used Umodel to extract files from this before, but since it's been updated, these errors have been coming up.

Please try new UModel. It still will crash (I think), but at least error message should be more informative for me.

Also, if you don't mind, could you please try older versions of UModel to find which one stopped working exactly? You may find them here:
https://github.com/gildor2/UModel/commits/master/umodel.exe
(press "<>" against the file version, download umodel.exe and replace one in umodel's directory).

Unfortunately I can't find the problem by myself (I don't have the game), so I need some assistance with debugging.

Sure thing, I'll check some older versions! The newest one didn't work either, but there'll be a fuller build of the game out in a couple of weeks, so I might just wait and see what that brings...
