No, I just read a lot, including English translations of Anatoly Rybakov, or other Russian authors, currently reading Strugatsky Brothers' Stalker (Roadside picnic) Smiley

I have no idea about how lip-sync is performed in modern games, sorry. I've never got any interest in this area. Probably (or even most likely) they use full motion capture instead, to be able to visualize more complex facial animation than just lip syncing. Just look at "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice" development diaries.
