Thanks a lot! Tested confirmed working with static mesh :-)

Cheers
Fixed static mesh support in new UModel (build 761). You should select "Dauntless" from the game list. Static mesh support wasn't broken because of UE4.20 code, it has something custom inside.

« Reply #16 on: September 22, 2018, 08:29 »

Hello Gildor !

I just downloaded the latest version of UE VIEWER (15 September, 2018) to extract some model of Dauntless, but every time i try to open a model (.uasset files ?) it crash because of some error messages. However i tried several ways :

-whithout override game detection

-whith override game detection, (unreal engine 4 / unreal engine 4.17 selected)

-whith override game detection, (unreal engine 4 / dauntless selected)

here are some screenshots :

setup

first error

second error

Do you think you can help me find a solution? manny thanks again ! (and sorry for my bad english)

Let's think a little bit.
Game worked before, and then stopped working. Most likely it got some update - ENGINE update. It used 4.17 before, and got updated. Unless developers are crazy, they will never update to an OLDER engine. Then, in theory, you had to try "engine versions after 4.17".

According to Wikipedia, this is an "upcoming game". In other words, "beta" or "early access". It should be changed frequently. I've added special code for this game before, and now this seems broken.

Thank you !

When I have time I will try to open the meshes with versions above the ue 4.17...  ...maybe it will work !
Unless it's a particular version of the unreal engine

I've tried to replace "Dauntless" code to use 4.19 engine, with proper fix for StaticMesh. Please try new UModel, set game to "Dauntless" and try all types of supported resources.

Looks like they've updated the game again. It's 4.20.3 this time, same case; skeletal mesh works, static doesn't (tried on 4.20 override, dauntless override no longer works).

Would there be any plan for umodel to support dauntless's static mesh again?

In Dauntless override, textures, animations, skeletal mesh and static mesh works fine.

In UE4.20 override, textures, animations and skeletal mesh works fine, but static meshe does not work:
