"Xcom 2" and "Xcom 2: War of the chosen" cause umodel's Crash

This game's developers decided to use custom compression either for effectiveness of for protection of the game content from modification or unpacking. UModel doesn't know anything about this compression, and it crashes with error message you posted above.

I don't think so. I'm very rarely adding custom decompression or decryption to UModel.
