I recently had to reinstall 3ds Max and all my plugins from scratch on a fresh hard drive because the old one was failing, and I've noticed that when I import BioShock Remastered models now, they don't have any smoothing group information. Any idea why? I don't know what version of the importer I used to use, but Windows lists its "Last modified" date as June 6, 2017.

Redownloading the importer and overwriting the one in 3ds max might be best.

Also it is worth making sure that you've exported models with relatively recent umodel (after December 6, 2017) - I'm saving smoothing groups as 1 since that version, and ActorX Importer imports them. If you'll use older importer, smoothing groups aren't imported. If you're using older umodel, smoothing will be set to 0 - what means "not smoothed".
