dealing with faceFX assets.
« on: September 09, 2013, 06:41 »

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to start this topic but do hope it is.

Umodel can extract FaceFx asset into fxa as far as I know, but is there some way to get these into 3dsmax? Ideally as morph targets. Or can those assets only be used by the FaceFx studio, UDK and the like?

Once you've got the facefx asset working again in UDK, you can easily export any facial animation you create from within matinee, by selecting the facefx track, and exporting the scene to fbx. The facefx asset will contain all the basic mouth shapes and targets created byt he original authors, so you can easily export those as single animations if you want to use them as morph shapes.
