They use alot of photogrammetry assets in this game, one corridor chuck asset has like 30 materials on it....

The day of release I started extracting models and after a few weeks I ended up using Gigapixel AI to make the texture resolutions 8k+ and made my own normal, displacement, specular, and occlusion maps. The result was a ton of super realistic assets and environments. With some post processing you can make some really great and creepy scenes! Just takes a long time to put all the models together again. Chernobylite has some awesome content and I hope the Devs keep up the great work!

@fastle: Recent game versions are using 4.26, but it's still fully supported, except some custom materials.

Yes, I noticed that the game moved from 4.21. I tried it on 4.27 (it also works, which is logical) and caught a stable error on the "death_stalker ......." model somehow Smiley

It turns out that by deleting the resources that umodel swears at, the game can still be unpacked?

(I apologize for the terrible English, I am writing through a translator Smiley)

@fastle: There are no assets called like that in recent game version. It's possible that you're trying to explore an outdated game version, built with different UE version. Check version in properties of ChernobylGame\Binaries\Win64\ChernobylGame-Win64-Shipping.exe and use it in umodel. In case of crash provide error message (umodel has "Copy" button in crash window for that) and also assets caused it (you can extract them as-is via "save packages" option in umodel).

thanks for the detailed answer! The version, in theory, is the last (from free access) at the moment. But yes, there’s a catch and I’m using a hacked game that received the last update in August and maybe this is the case.
The "save packages" option for some reason did not want to save the file that caused the error, but there is a log (an attempt to unpack the "Characters" folder):

But almost all subfolders can be unpacked without error, but in some it still finds a file that causes a similar error.

@fastle: You're doing export instead of saving them as-is, "export folder content" and "save folder packages" are two different options in umodel.

yes, I noticed, thanks. I misunderstood the structure of this function Smiley
After deleting the file along the path "Game / Characters / NPC / sk_ch_Stalker_01 / meshes / sm_ch_StalkerDead.uexp" there were no more errors when unpacking the "Characters" folder, which suits me perfectly. Thank you!
