Tried it out, and the files load up just fine with a 4.22 override.
Game version 4.22 (umodel 1200 used.)
Working: static + skinned meshes, textures, animations.
Not Working: sound, seems to use wwise, so unpack + convert like with other titles that use it, I guess. Haven't tested.

Looks like the synthetic materials are pretty heavily dependent on masking, and thus don't display 'correctly' in umodel, but it's still loading the correct textures required. I think most of the synthetic parts in the game use the same shared pool, while unique clothing and etc uses diffuse directly.
Loading animations seems to work just fine as well. (Though some additive ones don't seem to display correctly.)
