Someone took the time to decrypt the PT2 resource.
Now all the PT2 models ,animations, textures can open with UE editor 3369.

Do we have a link or something? I did a quick search and i can't find anything regarding a decryptor for the resources or anything recent. Is it a Private server with the resources already extracted and available?

Can you give more detailed instructions? I followed the instructions and tried to load the skeleton into the model but I couldn't

I'll try:
Let's take as example the char inside the folder Character -> CP080
- Load the model inside the mesh folder
- press O -> skeleton folder -> right click the skeleton.asset file in there and choose "append"  **
- O again -> animation folder -> choose you anim/anim, right click, append.
- Press Ctrl+A and you should have everything loaded.

It's important to first append the skeleton and then load the anims, not the other way round. After you ctrl+A you can still add other animations with the append option, you don't need to append skeleton anymore (unless you load another mesh).

**I think that most Playable Characters share the same skeleton, which should be under the CP00 folder or something like that, if the animation is "funny looking" the skeleton may be wrong and you may need to find the right one.

UE Viewer Compatibility Table have this game, and all functions supported (anims, meshes, and more)

Remnant use UE4.22.

I read somewhere, perhaps in another forum thread, that this tool supports only the standard type of skeleton and animations when exporting. However, I am confused by the fact that the compatibility table indicates that the export of animations and skeletons is possible, as well as the fact that I can easily pull out a model with a skeleton. Does anyone have any thoughts?

You're using standard umodel, which only support the "base game", with DLC the game started using ACL compression for anims. Download and use the one linked below

Can anyone please explain where I find the skeletons and animations within the file structure?

I'm getting the character models just fine at Character->Item->model->unique

That exports just fine by itself and does seem to have a skeleton after exporting, but can't load the animations in the viewer. So where is the working skeleton and where are the animations? The only mention of a skeleton I can find is at:  
Character->Item->shared->skeleton
but nothing in those folders seems to load in the viewer properly (yes I've tried 'append' in every possible order)

Please help!

If you extract the mesh alone the skeleton will be loaded/extracted anyway if i don't remember wrong.
Regarding the animations, you'll only find a few (like some char stage intro or some npcs) as, like previous tekken or soul calibur title made in UE, the fighting/commons ones are in another format, not loaded/recognized/readable by umodel.

Where are the monster models and animations located? I've downloaded the game via the Purple launcher and it installed more then 6 GB of assets but i can't find any skeletal assets... Someone knows?

The game will release on December 7th, for now we can only pre-create characters, so it's only partially downloaded, infact monsters sfx, fx and icons are there but not the models/textures/anims

I tried this with fmodel, but fmodel couldn't extract any models or textures made with Unreal Engine 5...

Although not Umodel related:
I'm pretty sure you're missing this for Fmodel, it's required if you want to open almost all UE5 games

Open with Specific Build from this topic disable materials as they'll likely crash umodel.
Skeletal meshes seems to be working as well as static meshes and textures too, in case of virtual textures, you should try with FModel.
Animations do work, despite the game using utoc/ucas, I guess this is applicable to every game using utoc/ucas (tested also with 1st descendant, remnant 2) you just need to Append the skeleton asset and the animations to the mesh -> Ctrl+A and everything's ready. Exporting seems to be working without any issue.

Hi! My bad that i didnt change ue4> 5.2 into the game name in special override.

I understand that being new in the program may lead to "confusion" by reading this in an hurry.
You don't have to use ue 5.2 override but "The First Descendant" (Scroll down on the list), and be sure to have materials disabled or it'll still crash.

The game is up again on steam, I dont know what changed since the previous beta but nothing works anymore, sadly.

They went to UE 5.2, changed the AES key, also they're using utoc/ucas now so animations won't work even after a Skeletal Mesh fix
roll, virtual textures won't work either.

@Ehlyon: I couldn't reproduce any crash in switch version, including batch operations like scan, and it's less complicated than PC version - for example, it doesn't use morphs (which is causing results like this one). Maybe you have base game version without patch, which doesn't contain most assets - with patch installed it should be single 20GB pak after extraction. Otherwise explain your issues in details, at least crashes can be fixed.

If you're not having troubles (and demonslayerx8 neither) it means it's on my end, maybe the paks didn't extract properly? I've 2 pak one of nearly 6gb, which is the base, the other of nearly 21gb which is the update. The umodel version it's the same as the PC one linked in your first post right?
I attached the errors i get when i scan content, open certain meshes or try to load some animations.
Scan hint that files may be encrypted but switch doesn't require an aes key...?

Switch version got a plethora of problems like being unable to scan content, problem loading some meshes/anims and even some anims being loaded not working, anyway it's an inferior version "texture wise" and a lil more complicated to extract so better stick with the PC one.
Edit: I'm the one having problems with the paks, switch version works fine too  rolleyes

PC version works fine.
A lil issue i found is that various animations got the exact same names (ex: all chars fatalities victims are named FatalityA_Victim.uasset or FatalityB_Victim.uasset) and since they share the same skeleton, if you load all of them, umodel will only recognize/load the 1st one, while the others will be the same as the 1st, so you need to load them 1 by 1 if you wana watch them on umodel.
Exporting them without appending on a model works fine since they're extracted singularly.

Quick question, when the game launched, it had a filesize of at least 7.5gigs, but now, when I'm downloading the game, the filesize is 4.8 gigs. Anyone know why this is the case? I'm trying to archive all the files before the game shuts down next month.

I guess better compression method?
The files i've (11/2022) are around 5.18 gb.
And thanks for the heads up, i'll download it one last time, to keep the files stowed away~

OT: Regarding PC version, just click the big button in the upper right corner to install the launcher/downloader, once in, you can login with a google account, the downloaded files are inside your C:\Users\[your account name]\AppData\Local\Zenonia\Content\Patch
