PS2 Rune .Ums files
« on: April 07, 2010, 06:57 »

Hi folks
i have a problem with This Files (dynamicobjects.ums and dynamicplayers.ums), I tried extract them with umodel, but an error occurred.

Quote
Microsoft Windows XP [versão 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\tuto>umodel.exe -export -all dynamicplayers.ums
Found 3 game files (513 skipped)
Loading package: dynamicplayers.ums Ver: 69/0 Names: 1027 Exports: 387 Imports:
5
Loading SkelModel Ragnar from package dynamicplayers.ums
******** dynamicplayers.ums ********
*** ERROR: assertion failed: index >= 0 && index < DataCount

ConvertRuneAnimations <- USkelModel::Serialize <- LoadObject:SkelModel'dynamicpl
ayers.Ragnar', pos=4E69, ver=69/0, game=100 <- UObject::EndLoad <- UnPackage::Cr
eateExport:dynamicplayers.ums:0 <- LoadWholePackage <- Main

these files were in the format .UMD, so after some minutes on google i found a program (UMDEXTRACT By Xbill) to extract them but, i cannot open this files, i tried a lot of tools.
Does anyone can help me Huh?
Thanks

Where did you got these files?
Usually Rune models has at least one animation track containing bind pose, but these files has meshes without animations. That's why umodel is crashed. I'll try to work around this problem.

First of all I would like to thank you for your quick reply. Smiley
So, as you know, they made an rune version in PS2, Rune Viking Warlord, and i tried to convert some models from PS2(.umd) and put on rune, i used UMDEXTRACT and i got these .ums files. Btw i tried to use PYGMALION Alpha 0.52, a rune import/export program but it failed.
I got the PSX2LINS.UMD & PSX2SHIP.UMD (brute files), then i used the UMDEXTRACT and I got some folders like

System (Bunch of map files in the format .Lin)
Sounds (just one file, dynamiccreaturessnd.uax)
Textures (Just one file, dynamicrunefx.utx)
Meshes (dynamicobjects.ums and dynamicplayers.ums)

I have worked with PC version of Rune. Probably PS2 version uses different data formats.

Hmm, i don't know exactly how they made the PS2 version, it seems that it was made an conversion Unreal engine to PS2...i don't know if is it.
Well, do you think that is possible? extract these .ums files?

I'm sure that format of these files is not the same as for PC game. Umodel supports PC version and does not supports PS2.

Try to import into Max. Milkshape has a lot of bugs.

All links to UMDEXTRACT are dead. Does anybody have this tool or analog? Post the link please.
