Umodel and Killing Floor
« on: November 14, 2009, 05:26 »

Hi I'm a student currently creating a total conversion for a University project and would like to take the textures and static meshes from killing floor. I have two folders of resources (named Textures and Static Meshes). I was hoping one of you could give me a clear step-by-step of extracting these resources en-masse so I can get past the general protection and use them myself.

For static mesh, you can not export them.

Just open up the CMD write the location to the file, with umodel. then just write for example,

umodel -export filename

Killing Floor is an UE2 game, umodel has support for its static meshes.

Thanks for the help. One last question, now that I've got the PSKs for the static meshes do you know how I can import them into Unreal? (I've tried to open them with 3DS MAX but it doesn't seem to be able to open them)

UnrealEd can import only static meshes in ASE or 3DS formats.
But you can import PSK file into 3ds Max (using Actor X Importer from this site), then save into any format.
