I actually have trouble exporting stuff from that game. It seems most of it is textures, but I can't find a way to get the skeletal meshes

For example, if I export CHR_Castel_p.xxx , I get a bunch of textures, but no skeletal mesh. So, logically, I try to export CHR_MESHSET_Castel.xxx, but then I get the "Specified package has no supported objects" message; same if I try to export one of the anim files. CHR_MESHSET_ and ANIM_ files are all 32kb, is that normal?

As far as I know, I have the latest version of umodel and unreal package extractor. I'm using the xbox360 game as the original source.

Is there a special trick to use?

There is no point to look at packages by their names. Try exploring larger packages first. Also you could use batch extractor (the link is in FAQ) to extract everything with "-uncook" option and then look at extracted resources by folder name.
