Hmm i never really thought of that. There must be a reason why it's not showing up in the archive though.

I have spent a lot of time digging Transformers animations format without success. It is not possible to find animation decompression code without debugging (I'm doing only disassembly). Code which is based on supposed format is not working.
So, animation state for this game is: unsupported Sad Sorry, guys.

Probably I will obtain a full game sometimes and try to reverse animations format some day later.

how do you get skeletal meshes out of the game?
i cant find any at all!
i mean, i can find skeletal meshes like interact button and Omega Supreme
but i can never get the playable models out of the game
all i get is textures
i managed to export starscream's textures, but not the model
(yes, im using -noanim, its simply not there even to view)
i dont care about the robot model, i just need the jet model

EDIT: i found the models, i just had to use "-noanim" when loading
anyway, im looking for the textures
because all i could find was REALLY bad textures, all yellowish...i need to find the original game textures...

Hi,

I had a go at getting animations out and some work but for me (using max 2012 and latest umodel) all of the vehicle mode animations look to be broken / have X-Form problems when extracted.

I've played around with optimus, bumblebee and omega characters which work ok with robot animations but when I try the vehicle mesh and animations all hell breaks loose. Is there a special way to get this to work or is the problem just part of the decompile process?

First, you should ensure that animation which you are trying to open is not additive (usually starting with "ADD_" prefix).

It only contain textures, while model you must download it from their website, that why they have a code and you are force to use that. So technically no, it not there.
Yes it is. Because of two things. First, that doesn't make sense for Arcee and Slipstream, since you don't have to download anything to unlock them. The second reason's purely technical, it's because all players need the complete graphical data to see other player's exclusive characters in multiplayer. The code only unlocks access to the character, the data is there all along.
You can check with someone who got the preorder characters, you'll find their files are exactly the same.
Hmm i never really thought of that. There must be a reason why it's not showing up in the archive though.

Sorry to dig this out but I'm actually hunting for these two models in the game. So far, I've noticed that they are all available in the ROBODEF file, but that the DLC characters and Arcee and Slipstream's file is a 1KB size.

My question about this is: has anyone ever dug their models out of the game? Perhaps as part of another level package? I mean, Zeta Prime is in there as a boss, so his robot model is in there, but not his vehicle model.

I'm starting to think that instead of having the usual content, all their ROBODEF files contains is a program line that tells the game to access the online gaming server and retrieve their model from there instead of from the disk. After all, they are ONLY accessible in multiplayer context, which implies you are connected to both the internet and the WFC server.

I don't know much about Unreal but is this something that makes sense? It seems to me that it would be bandwidth heavy, but maybe it isn't.

Anyone know how to get full models from the game, including textures, meshes, weapon models, and skeletons? I want to know how to import them properly into a 3D program but they come out white somehow. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I've been working on the WFC for a while now and all I can tell you is that there is no way to get actual, textured character models out of the game itself. All models are colored in game using the engine's shader system.

The only map that extracts and can be applied to the mesh directly is a glow control map. Fortunately, it contains all the surface details of the character. Unfortunately, it's got channel specific tints, resulting in orange or green characters meshes. The bump map, fortunately, is usable.

I'm currently working on photoshoping the real character colors on the glow control maps, but that is waaaay down my priority list and I'm not skilled with Photoshop. If you happen to be, we may be able to trade a few things together.

Also, for the characters that are also featured in FoC, it's actually easier to get them off the FoC rip as that game's engine DOES have a character mapping color map. Some of the maps are altered by in game channels, but it's a lot easier to color on a white texture map than it is to change a yellow or green tinted map to the actual colors of the character. At least, to me it is.

Ah, So there's no way to get the proper colors for the transformers models outside of the game. So I'm guessing that all of the models have to be colored in after exporting them from the game then? Huh? Sounds like a long process if someone wants the full character sheet in their native colors, including the grunts, Trypticon, Omega Supreme, the Ark, Bruticus and the Nemesis. Or are some of the big guys a different story?

As an added note, the wheels don't come out for their vehicle forms. Are they in a different file, or there isn't a way to get their wheels?
