Static meshes, textures and animations works fine with latest umodel build (1562 at the moment). For skeletal meshes use specific umodel build (
link) - no special override is required, it should autodetect the game.
The point is that current 4.27 implementation in umodel is designed for Fortnite, while Fortnite doesn't use stock engine anymore, and on top of that 4.27 is only in preview state, which means it can change before release version is out. Consider this build as temporary solution until 4.27 will be officially released and proper support will be added to umodel.
