Rendering Texture Issues
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:50 »

Okay, so I have followed the videos and tutorials well and was able to bring Killing Floor models into 3DS Max and from within the viewport they look as they should, textures and all. But, when I try to render them the textures kind of disappear... it has a texture, but the texture isn't correct. I have tried to troubleshoot it for some time now, but I can't seem to find a solution. Any ideas?

To where?

All it is is the .upk and that file has all the textures and meshes of the specimen.

Really? Are you importing *.upk to 3ds Max? Of course need extracted PSK and TGA files.

I'm not importing that to 3ds, I use umodel and that gives me all the .psk and .tga's.

Okay, here is the upload link to the .upk. I just used umodel to export the meshes and all then opened it with ActorX.

I probably should have compressed it... oh well.

Oh, guy. How we can help you if you didn't upload textures? From your UPK I can export only meshes and animation!

I will repeat again that
need extracted PSK and TGA files.

The textures should be in there. That is where I got them from.

It turned out to be something with the alpha channels of the textures, it caused them to be almost completely transparent although in the viewport you couldn't tell. I thought I had checked it before posting here but I suppose not. So I had to reapply the texture through the material browser and set alpha to none. I'm not sure how to get it to render properly without the having the reapply the texture if it is possible.
