When I load/export a Borderlands 2 character body/head mesh in UE Viewer, parts of the texture are different shades of grey. This is probably to do with the skin customization within the game, but is there a way to load/export the body/head texture with the actual colours as they are in the game?

Could you provide a screenshot from umodel and perhaps from 3ds Max? Did you try to map a texture in Max on "grey" parts?

Because I wasn't sure what exactly  to take a screenshot of I have 4 from umodel:
This is the mesh in umodel

The default texture that is applied to the model:

The texture which I want to apply (which comes from another UPK):
http://s1282.photobucket.com/user/klmnoop/media/Umodel-GreyTexture/MATIDEFAULTMERCBODYfw_zps7a9c9c5b.png.html?sort=3&o=2

Because I feel like the Mati_MercBody and the Mati_Default_Body sound like they should be similar, I've added one of the pink skins:
http://s1282.photobucket.com/user/klmnoop/media/Umodel-GreyTexture/MERCPINKfw_zpsf81b9f62.png.html?sort=3&o=0

As for the 3ds Max screenshot this is the mesh wit the Mati_Default_Body mapped onto it:
http://s1282.photobucket.com/user/klmnoop/media/Umodel-GreyTexture/MERCMAXfw_zpsfe2d36df.png.html?sort=3&o=2

I did try editing the exported textures in Photoshop, but I'll be the first to admit I'm terrible at using the program and my edits are far from what they actually look like in the game. But from what I think I understand the Mati_Default_Body and the Mati_PinkA_Body should be what you see in the game.

If I'm being an idiot here I'm sorry, Hope you've had a very merry Christmas and will have a happy new year Smiley

So, I didn't understand the problem. Sorry, I didn't see the game, so I can't compare umodel screenshot with the game. I'll try to "predict". You're seeing greyscale texture in umodel, but game has the same texture colorized? If so, there are 2 possibilities:
1) the material (not texture) is colorized with shader using some special texture or some formula
2) the mesh has vertex colors
(both variants are not supported by umodel)

Hope you've had a very merry Christmas and will have a happy new year Smiley
Thank you! You too Smiley

Ah sorry! I knew I should of made a screen-shot of the actual skin. Nevertheless The first possibility is the most likely reason :/ So I'm off to find a shader/texture/formula somewhere! This will be fun, thank you for you're help Gildor! <3
