Texts in .uassets files

Hi and thanks for your great job.
I was thinking if there is any possibility to add support for text only uassets files

Some kind of text editor, for localization.

Of course I can display or extract texts. But I can't put edited text back.

Some people are editing texts in this way: decompress package (if it is in compressed state), change text with binary file editor, and then put that package back into the game. If nothing went wrong, game will pick it on startup.

Some tips could be found in this board - http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/board,22.0.html. This is a special board I made on this forum for game editing questions - I can't support everyone there (because I'm not a "modder"), but at least people could share their experience there. I think I'll move this thread there.

Also, because you're asking about UE4 game - the source code of this engine is available for everyone, so it's very easy to modify the engine code to create own tool which will alter UE4 packages. That could be done by programmer with "average" experience (with brains and hands at correct places Smiley)

Is there a way using the latest umodel to extract texts from a .uasset file?

im looking at a semi recent game called battle breakers and im trying to get the game data to put in a wiki

UModel doesn't work with any "text" assets, and this is not planned. Actually, there's NO pure text assets in the engine, so I'm unsure what did you ever mean here.

I opened it in NPP and i think it has what i need to start building a wiki

or at least it has the data for one unit and from there i can repeat for all the others
