Would Like To Know About Textures
« on: November 18, 2018, 05:33 »

Hey everyone, i have a simple question hopefully that someone can answer, when exporting the textures that's all well and good however i really want to know what the different letters on the end of each texture means. For example T_F_MED_Bullseye_Body_D, T_F_MED_Bullseye_Body_M, T_F_MED_Bullseye_Body_N and T_F_MED_Bullseye_Body_S. I'm presuming it's diffusion etc and bump maps but i'm not sure which one is which.
Thanks for anyone that can help!

Texture names are absolutely up to designer. They could name they as they want, even Texture1, Texture2, Texture3. Also, shader can use textures as it wants. "M" probably means "Mask" (3 separate monochrome channels), "S" may be "Specular", may be something else. Shader may compute "specular" from "diffuse", for instance use specular if red channels > 0.5 etc. You should determine use of these channels yourself, or not use them at all.
