TERA model viewer
« on: February 16, 2011, 02:05 »

Well, perhaps not a model viewer but this is a realtime engine showing the model VELIC with some stuff

Diffuse map
Normal map
Specular map

Using a ambient color and Spotlight with shadows

Velic only has idle animation

Gildor, this is not to in any way try to compete with your viewer but I am using this engine and just do this for testing, and hope people like it Smiley

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The zip file is 33mb and zipped with 7zip. Hope you enjoy it.

I will probably expand later so when you select a character from list it will spawn on that same place as velic and you can rotate

50Mb is too much for such simple viewer even with embedded mesh and animation Smiley

Yeah I know its alot. I will optimize more later. It was basically a template folder that I modified so there might be some scrap in there. The engine uses fbx and separate fbx files and they sometimes become quite big. But if I create a new version I will clean it up, just did a quick test because it is fun. I will practice on UI next

Nah, gamecore is a complete engine but one of the model formats it uses is fbx, it also can show obj, 3ds, ms3d and lwo.

But I like the fbx format of these because in the fbx you can store model, animation and also lights etc.

Of course psk and psa would have been nice Smiley

its easy, because everything is baked into the exe file. So you just start it, choose resolution and then run it. I think there are some steps in the menu, like create a profile etc, sorry about that, its because it is based on a template.
