Thank you very much for the tutorial, I have successfully extracted part of the resources, but I found that some files only skeleton files or even no files, can not be used, I do not know what caused this

I've had zero issues until the most recent update. Since Xentax is gone where the OG dragon raja scripts were posted by their creator I'm unsure how to report the error! I religiously follow the info here alongside HarukaSakurai's guide for ripping the game and I've attached the error I'm now encountering when running the BMS script on the iguf dat files.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled the game and ensured all of the resources were downloaded, but I notice that between ripping it today vs on 2/4 iguf_09.dat is much smaller and there is now a iguf_0a.dat, but I have a feeling this doesn't matter but thought I should mention it!

If needed, I can provide the dat files, I would just need time to upload them since most are about 2 gigs a piece.
Unsure if anyone else is also having this issue!

@Moonstrewn: Similar issue was already mentioned before. It only means that the package is somehow corrupted. Latest actual issue with the script was fixed in 2023 and I've checked that the most recent version of it is included in both tutorial and the post with specific umodel build to avoid misunderstanding. I can only suggest, like usual, either perform internal integrity check (for steam version) or re-download the game. There is no other way around with their patching mechanics.

Though not sure that even integrity check is working as expected there. Apparently they're writing hot patches by inlining updated assets into iguf and adding respective entries to the index without removing old entries (or maybe using hot patch sub-index). As result it works fine in-game because the the game just doesn't use partially overwritten assets anymore, but the script is trying to extract everything based on the index and fails if outdated entry is addressing somewhere in the middle of a new asset. Adding ability to skip invalid entries to the script is not an option, because the whole approach is already troublesome enough to look into possible issues with actually corrupted packages due to failed/incomplete downloads and similar things. Downloading clean already patched version usually solves the issue.

I've finally got most of the meshes ripped, but I'm missing 90% of the textures, are they in another iguf file? I've tried to extract ALL of them but that was taking 4+ days and I wasn't even half done...

@terminalgeek: All iguf files are stored in the same folder. If you want to significantly speed up the extraction process, you can run quickbms with -q argument to suppress most logs except for errors, though error message will not be really useful if the rest of logs is omitted.

How can I browse these textures? After using the BMS script to extract game files, I was able to find the texture files for. ubulk and. uexp, but UModel is missing and I am unable to view and export them.I have uploaded these files to Google Drive, if you need them.

I am sure that I downloaded and extracted all the files of the game according to the tutorial, but I found that it is not a small part of the uasset files that are missing, but a lot of them are missing, and they mostly appear in the texture files. Although I can obtain these textures through ninjar ripper, is it possible that the BMS script did not fully extract the game files?

@Lyws: The script would crash in case of issues, it's not able to skip anything. I'm totally sure it's some user error, most likely you didn't extract base png packages or merged them with the rest of extracted files without preserving correct paths. But since terminalgeek was talking about the same thing above, I'll download the game and take a look, it's possible to check if respective entries are present in archives without extracting them.

Update: Like I thought, most uassets for textures are stored in base png archives under StreamingAssets\win\res_base\package (for PC version). All further posts regarging this matter will be removed, as it's not an actual issue.
Update 2: Apparently some people are trying to merge png archives before extraction even in case it's not required. I've added additional notes to the first post in this topic and to the base post in the topic with specific build, to make things more clear about that part of tutorial.

Hello, I know there's been previous posts mentioning missing .uassets (which aren't my only issue) and that they aren't considered an issue with the script, but I wanted to mention something that I've been encountering just in case.

I've been getting the files successfully for a long time using the method described in this thread. I normally target configs.png, data.png, and ui.png (with ui.png being the most important to me). This was all totally fine when I was doing this regularly, and then I uninstalled Life Makeover around December. I recently came back and reinstalled in August, and wanted to get access to the contents of those files again. While I was able to perform the process properly as described here, I noticed that the PNGs seem to be missing .uassets in the ui.png files after a certain point. eg. In \ui\surfaces\atlasmakeup, the ui.png files only seem to have up until atlas153.uasset for those atlas files, but I can get up to atlas175.uexp from the iguf files. Or in \ui\surfaces\suit, it only goes up to suit554l.uasset, but I can get up to suit620l.uexp from the iguf files (which would be accurate to what has released). This repeats across all the ui.png files where I am unable to get .uassets from more recent patches. I've reinstalled the game multiple times while making sure to delete all remaining files from my system first, always verified my file integrity, but still no luck. I'm also using the version from Steam. I also do actively play this game, so it shouldn't be a matter of failing to download anything, either. It just seems like there's something missing from the PNGs now.

I'm recognizing this is likely not a script problem. But it does make me wonder if the game is handling files differently somehow. (I would love to be wrong about this and for it just to be user error.) Aside from the missing .uassets from the ui.png files, the files I would often check in configs.png (mostly configs\_lang_en\lottery_cfg.lua) and data.png (mostly data\_lang_en\fashion_essence.bcfg) also seem to stop having content from more recent patches after a certain point. I would usually check these for item types, descriptions, names, and Lightchase stories, but they just don't seem to be updating with new information anymore, either. So I'm not really sure what's going on with the files, if I'm doing something wrong, or if the game is just storing some information in a different location now. From what I can tell from looking at the files I can access, it seems like the .uasset files stop being present from around a patch in May 2025 for me (specifically the patch from April 23 - May 13 2025, as the last set images from ui.png in the \surfaces\suit\ folder that have .uassets were released in that patch). The same seems to be true for the configs and data files I would normally check, where they no longer seem to be updating for any patches since that time.

If there's any possible insight you could offer, or further recommended troubleshooting I should be doing, I'd be grateful.

@Oleander: Unlike chinese steam version, base english steam version was not updated since April 2025, according to steamdb. StreamingAssets only contains prebuilt assets up to this date. All further updates are downloaded via in-game patcher and stored in Azure\Output folder, including both iguf and png. You need to extract and properly merge everything from base download and in-game updates before processing them in umodel or elsewhere.

Update: Your other post has been removed, because you're suggesting to do what is explicitly said not to do in the base post - it may cause various errors in the process of extraction or afterwards. You can't merge png files with exactly the same name, they should be extracted separately and then extracted assets merged.

@spiritovod: Ah, okay. Your description here actually makes things much clearer for me by specifying that it's the extracted assets that are merged, thank you. The guide by HarukaSakurai made me think otherwise, which is why I was doing it incorrectly. I'll do what you've said instead.

@Oleander: This part of tutorial is also correct, even though it may be confusing, because for some versions (and PC versions of other games from this developer) models file can be split into two files and it should be actually merged before extraction. I've just added clarification that png with exactly the same name shouldn't be merged before extraction, as they're independent archives.

I've modified notes in base post with more explicit explanation of this part.
