tree's export with triangles in place of leaves
« on: September 04, 2025, 19:13 »

so this is my first time posting a thread here but here goes

im trying to get trees and other foilage from the following games

Red river incursion: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2116120/Incursion_Red_River/
and
metal gear solid snake eater: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2417610/METAL_GEAR_SOLID_D_SNAKE_EATER/

but when i get the trees into umodel they show up with triangles instead of the leaves seen in game, and red river takes it a step further and the tree's themselves start to triangulate

is this a bug or am i doing somthing wrong?

sorry if i posted inccoretly here or somwhere in my post

@DNA: Those are nanite meshes used in UE5 games (not all of them though). You can read more about nanite in UE documentation if you want. Like explained in the topic with current limitations and possible issues, only base geometry is parsed from them at the moment (if present). You can use fmodel, which is able to fully parse nanites - but it has its own specifics and it's better to address questions related to its usage to respective communuty rather than here.
