DC Universe Online - Unextractable Textures
Not sure if this is the right thread, so please move it if that's the case.

Just a heads up, Umodel extracts DC Universe Online models, but not textures.

I've uploaded a mock-up of the files, including

DCGame.exe - "UNREAL3\BINARIES\Win32"
Engine.u - "UNREAL3\DCGAME\COOKEDPC"
DCHRNPCICOHER101.UPK - "UNREAL3\DCGAME\COOKEDPC\CHARACTER\NPC\ICONIC\HERO"
DCHRNPCICOVIL111.UPK - "UNREAL3\DCGAME\COOKEDPC\CHARACTER\NPC\ICONIC\VILLAIN"
NPC.TCF - "UNREAL3\DCGAME\COOKEDPC\TEXTUREFILECACHE"
NPC_REMAP - "UNREAL3\DCGAME\COOKEDPC\TEXTUREFILECACHE"

This is just in case Gildor wants to either fix the problem, or confirm my findings!
DCUO Mock Up.zip - 34.6 Megabytes;
DCUO Mock Up[ Extracted ] - 52.8 Megabytes;
Download can be found here:
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=281E7AE56F5F89FF%211131

I have tried:

Umodel in "CookedPC" Directory;
Umodel + BatchExport in "CookedPC" Directory;
Umodel GUI in "CookedPC" Directory;
Umodel GUI in "CHARACTER" Directory;
Umodel in "CHARACTER" Directory;
Umodel in "CUSTOM" folder, with Character + required xxx.tfc(s); // Crashed Umodel.

I did a few tests, and Umodel could tell the texture dimensions, when xxx_REMAP.upk" is removed from "TEXTUREFILECACHE" directoy. It did not extract them however, which was a bummer. When using "BatchExport" in "CookedPC" directory, the textures are from the specific character packages. The game version I used, and Umodel version, are the most up-to-date versions.

Thought Gildor would like to know, so he can update the "Compatibility Table" because, it said that Umodel supports both Models and Textures is the only reason I downloaded the game LOL!

On the bright side, Batman: Arkham City is working like a charm! Pity though, because DCUO has many more characters from the DC Universe!

I'd also like to thank Gildor, for such an amazing tool. I've finally gotten models I could have only dreamed of getting.( Gears Of War 3 ). Also the fact that Umodel works on Aliens: Colonial Marines without a hitch, added bonus! =D

You ought to check the thread for this game
http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,682.0.html
its link exists in compatibility table.

The reasons why textures are marked as supported are:
1) it works fine with older version (spent a week or two working on it!)
2) even for newer version, it should work without TFC, i.e. low-res textures should work

Thanks for looking over that. I read that thread and assumed that since the game has been out for years, umodel would automatically work with the newer version. The low quality textures are pretty bad though, so it's no use trying to extract the data LOL!

Thanks mate.

that's rarely true for online games

There's information about obtaining high resolution textures from this game:
