I have uploaded a first umodel version with the new renderer system. It has the same rendering capabilities as previous versions with a small exception: if your videocard and drivers has OpenGL 2.0 support (GLSL), lighting will be done per-pixel, not per-vertex.
Keys Ctrl+G can toggle OpenGL 2.0 / OpenGL 1.1 rendering.
This version was tested by me on two GL2.0 computers, but both has NVidia videocard. I'm expecting bugs with ATI videocards because this company
always has problems with OpenGL.
Older videocards (without GL2.0) will use old rendering system.
I need feedback about older NVidia videocards (GeForce FX 5xxx etc) and ATI videocards. May be there are more companies has GLSL support?
Also, my Linux system has ATI Radeon 8500 (GL1.4) system, so new renderer on Linux is also untested.
Any feedback is welcome. Post comments (please, no "cool" etc posts, only useful information
) in this topic.
