May be this will be interesting for somebody ...
This is my feature plans for umodel.
  • continue renderer development for complete support of complex UE2 and UE3 materials
  • (try to) support upcoming games: Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, Batman 2

ah, that is another thing Smiley Hope you succeed with that so you will have a very nice renderer.

Did you ever look at that homepage, don't remember that name where a russian guy has some files that you put inside a game and makes the game look better. It kind of "hijack" the directx and adds shaders that wasnt in the original game?

Yes, I have looked at that page. That program adds bloom effect for D3D applications. I'm already have own one.

well it adds bloom, motion blur, depth of field and other things too Smiley But some of those are not needed for a model viewer Smiley

The only thing you do not have is a particle viewer but that would be strange because a particle generator is not attached to model Smiley

Bloom is needed for correct display of glowing parts. That's why I've done it. Without it self-illumination channel looks incorrect.
Depth of fiels and motion blur are not planned. Renderer is not only a few effects. I want to correctly display all unreal materials - animated effects, environment maps, detail normals maps, compound material maps etc.
