A new game not on the list.

I was hoping this would be similar to the original Mass Effect and so would work of the bat but alas no.  The PC version contains a bunch of ".pcc" files and ".afc" in the CookedPC folder, unsupported by the viewer.  The Xbox 360 version, however, contains ".xxx" files of the same name as the ".pcc" equivalents as well as the same ".afc" files.  Both versions contain a "Textures.tfc" file.

When using umodel.exe on a ".xxx" file from the 360 version I get the following message:

Quote
L:\ME2\BioGame\CookedXenon>umodel BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph
Found 1060 game files (683 skipped)
Loading package: BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.xxx Ver: 512/130 Engine: 3607 Names: 974
Exports: 2510 Imports: 93
******** BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph ********
*** ERROR: Serialized FString is not null-terminated
FString<< <- ReadNameTable <- UnPackage::UnPackage:BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.xxx, ga
me=1000 <- UnPackage::LoadPackage:BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph <- Main

Here is the result of the pkgtool.exe on the "...BioGame\CookedXenon" directory:

Quote
Found 1060 game files (683 skipped)
Version summary:
Ver        LicVer     Count
512 (200)   130 ( 82)  1059

The (hopefully) unencrypted main exe and an example ".xxx" file and its ".pcc" equivalent, 7.8Mb zipped

How did you manage to get umodel to open the pcc files? Everytime I try I get the following:

Quote
L:\Games\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\CookedPC>umodel BioH_END_Vixen_01
Found 2 game files (2887 skipped)
WARNING: package BioH_END_Vixen_01 was not found

I have just released umodel with Mass Effect 2 support. All resource types (supported by umodel) can be accessed.

Check the logs. I think umodel cannot find textures.tfc file. Possibly you have specified wrong "-path".

******** C:\umodel_win32\BioH_Vixen_00.pcc ********

ERROR: Serialized FString is not null-terminated
FString<< <- Name:0 <- ReadNameTable <- UnPackage::UnPackage:BioH_Vixen_00.pcc, game=8000 <- UnPackage::LoadPackage:C:\umodel_win32\BioH_Vixen_00.pcc <- Main

I'm having the same issue with the FString error. I don't know why.

I was able to extract file BioP_Char but not skeletal meshes were extracted. Only AnimSet, LightMap and Texture2D. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Try to use "-game=mass2".
By the way - where did you get this file? I have no problems with BioH_Vixen_00.pcc on my PC installation of Mass Effect 2.

That worked!

I thought I test out your stuff on the Mass Effect 2 Demo from Steam. perhaps that is the issue.

Thanks for your help
