chrrox is like gildor one of the 7 gods in this world, we do not question how they do things, we just give them meat and wine and prey Smiley

textures look messed up
I've checked these packages. Textures looks ugly because umodel treats ps3 packages as xbox360 packages (both are big endian).
When I've disabled decoding of xbox360 textures everything becomes good.

I need a way to automatically detect ps3 packages (distinguish them from xbox packages).

I assume punisher doesn't have a 360 then?

Is opening the iso from the ps3 punisher the same as 360?

I have published new umodel which is targetted to support this ps3 game. Implemented missing animation compression algorithm, plus added "-noxbox" option to disable XBox360 texture decryption, which should enable ps3 textures (which are the same as PC textures).
Try it!

Note: "-noxbox" switch is a subject to change - possibly umodel will require better target platform specification, so I probably will replace this switch with something like "-pc", "-xbox360", "-ps3" etc.

Nice, I was very happy that we now can support future PS3's. Nice that Punisher is the only PS3 exclusive at the moment.

Very cool Smiley

I was asking Gildor about PS3 and he notified me of this thread. I sent a message to you chrrox, but maybe you didn't get it or were not interested.

It would be great to see some more PS3 files be available, as mentioned by esr911.

I am especially looking for the resource files from BioShock PS3 or BioShock 2 PS3, since I believe these files to contain higher resolution assets than the PC version that I have, as well as additional assets in BioShock PS3 from the challenge rooms, which are not present in PC version.

If you can help acquire these files sometime in the future, it would be very much appreciated.

As Chroxx said, PC version of a game always has the larger textures and usually Mesh LODS. The only games I know of which are horrible ports are Iron Man and the Hulk, strangely enough, both ported over by Sega and which don't use the U3 Engine.

So in other words, PC > PS3 in graphical assets.

Console assets are useful in following situations:
- the game is exclusive for this platform (like Punisher)
- often console games has some extra content in comparison to PC (some hardware vendors specify extra content as a mandatory feature to allow game to be published)
