Can't switch animation frames

I am having a problem similar to this thread. using [] to switch animations works just fine for me, I however am unable to use <> to switch frames, when I press those buttons (holding shift or not), nothing happens. Help please? I'm using what I believe is the latest version.

Edit: please disregard this thread, it works for me now. The change in animation is so small and slow I had thought it wasn't changing at all.
