3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound
« on: July 16, 2020, 19:33 »

Game: 3on3 FreeStyle Rebound (steam page)
UE version: 5.1 (current version) / 4.23 (previous versions)
AES key: in the same place as usual (link)

All works fine - including meshes, textures and animations - with the latest umodel build. A lot of materials are custom.

Update: For latest game versions, built with 5.1 and using custom encryption, you need to use specific umodel build from this topic with game specific override option.

It seems like the FX/Sound files have a error when trying to export. Is it because the game updated to UE 5.1?

@greatscott: Yes, umodel doesn't support modern audio formats used in most recent games.

Thats Unfortunate. Do you think that future umodel versions might be able to do so in the future?

@greatscott: I doubt. You can try fmodel instead, which has support for modern audio formats, though it has its own specifics for UE5 games.

@carrysomb: The game is using retargeting via master skeleton for all characters, which means inconsistency between skeleton (armature) bones and animation bones is expected. You can preview animations in umodel without retargeting by switching respective mode to "disabled" with Ctrl+R - this is what you should get in blender upon importing as-is. I would recommend to use gltf export to avoid possible issues with psk/psa plugin, because gltf is natively supported by blender. Similar issue was recently discussed in this topic, check it as well.

Also umodel can now export sounds from such games, as it's using native UEBA audio.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS REPLY!!! i was able to export the head hair and body using gltf and avoid retargeting the mesh imported into blender. only issue I had was that the eyes of the model seemed out of socket but I just separated them into their own mesh and put them in the right place and BOOM. Never actually though I would get this far man and I owe it to you thanks a lot!!
