Game: Scavengers Steam Page
UE4 version: exe is suggesting 4.26

Not sure if an AES is needed.

I was getting an error abouut oo2core_5_win32.dll not being available so I added one. After adding I now get the following error:

Quote
appDecompressOodle <- appDecompress: CompSize=5167 UncompSize=129024 Flags=0xFD Bytes=C5E0 <- SerializeCompressed <- FPakFile::Serialize: file=/Game/Scavengers/Characters/Players/Valora/Classic/MI_Valora_Base_Classic_Hair.uasset <- FArchive::ByteOrderSerialize <- UnPackage::CreateLoader: /Game/Scavengers/Characters/Players/Valora/Classic/MI_Valora_Base_Classic_Hair.uasset <- UnPackage::UnPackage: /Game/Scavengers/Characters/Players/Valora/Classic/MI_Valora_Base_Classic_Hair.uasset, ver=100000/0, game=0 <- UnPackage::LoadPackage(info): /Game/Scavengers/Characters/Players/Valora/Classic/MI_Valora_Base_Classic_Hair.uasset <- ScanContent <- UIMenuItem::HandleCommand <- UIMenu::Popup <- UIBaseDialog::WndProc <- UIBaseDialog::CustomMessageLoop <- UIBaseDialog::ShowDialog: modal=1, title="Choose a package to open" <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main: umodel_build=1544

This happens when I try to export or open inside of UmodelViewer

Skeletal meshes, animations and textures works fine. Static meshes are not supported, probably custom compressed geometry thing (the error looks similar with other cases like that).

I got things working and need clarity on one more thing.

Quote
you must delete all materials (MI_*, M_* and also body_m)

Does that also apply here? It also included some files with _M at the end

T_Cruz_Trapper_LowerGear_M1.uasset
T_Cruz_Trapper_LowerGear_M1.uexp
T_Cruz_Trapper_LowerGear_M2.uasset

Should those be removed as well?

Did some poking around and I was able to only get a diffuse texture for the head and hair. Does that mean I'm doing something wrong or do they not exist?

@itsnatoriousb: No, the thing you've quoted is applied only to Outriders, due to special approach there. This game is normal one, you can simply disable static meshes at startup screen and export the rest just fine. As for materials for head and hair, it's usual thing for such games, where customization and skins are present. Material properties can be inherited from different materials, different meshes, calculated at runtime and so on. If you can't see required stuff in material properties ("M" in umodel or txt in exported files), you should find them manually - while for hair diffuse texture may be enough, I think for head some actual textures should exist.

Brand new to UModel, seem to be getting approximately the same error? The error reads "OodleLZ_Decompress returned -1" quite possible it's something different in that case.

Since this is the only post about Scavengers I can find, figured I would ask.

I may have explained it wrong. I don't get any diffuse/albedo for any other parts. I end up with what looks like a lot of masks along with the proper normals. I wanna texture a model but this is something I've never seen in other UE games.

Use specific umodel build from this topic for proper support for static meshes - no special override is required, simply choose proper engine version. Though "automerges" meshes can't be properly deserialized at the moment.

Update: You can open game packages in umodel builds with support for updated 4.27 packages format (1573 and above, or specific build) without extracting them.

Specific build in the previous post was updated, it can now handle game packages without extracting them, like the latest official build. There are a few games like this - they are built with 4.26, but using updated package format.
