Game: Halloween: The Game (steam page)
UE5 version: 5.7

Partially supported with specific build from this topic. For general limitations and possible issues please read this topic. The game is using retargeting for almost all animations, and it's recommended to append and export only compatible animations manually, because animations search will try to add all of them at once.

It's worth to note that in builds fix282 and above sections hiding (Ctrl+M) for preview works not only for sections without any material referenced directly, but also for WorldGridMaterial linked as referenced material.

This may be more of a general question and not specific to this game, but can anyone help me understand an efficient way to eliminate multiple rigs when loading a character and clothing where each item imports its own skeleton? I am having great issues animating characters because of the duplicate rigs.

@rcsinger: This game is probably not a best case for explanation, but here is general approach. When you combine a few meshes by tagging them in umodel, for example hands/body/foot of the same character which uses the same skeleton, and then apply an animation to it, upon export to gltf animation will be added only to active mesh (selected red in the viewer, if tagging is used). For blender, you can simply import all 3 meshes at once, then select all of them, choose the part with applied animation as active one and then merge them (Ctrl+J). After that you can delete all armatures from other parts, since they're not animated anyway. The result mesh should look the same as in umodel while being animated.

Sounds like a straight forward workflow. Can you explain to me what "tagging them in umodel" means and how to combine the meshes? Every time I try I can only load one mesh at a time. I try to -append- open but it doesnt work. I try to use the flat view and select multiple files but only the first mesh loads.

I had no issues at all with the Friday the 13th models when that game came out but I have had many issues with the Quarry and Halloween.

@rcsinger: I'd suggest to view recommended tutorial from tutorials section, such things are explained there along with other useful things (many of them can be used in any umodel build).

Append is not working for me. I cannot load a complete character. I am using the version you suggested. Can you please help?

@rcsinger: Assuming that you've seen the tutorial suggested above, it would be better to explain what you're doing step by step and what you're expecting from the result. Append option doesn't combine anything by itself, it only loads assets to current set to be able to work with them in the viewer (scroll through them, tag them, etc) - in comparison, usual open option will unload all previously loaded assets and load the one you're opening now. You can use screenshot from the first post as example for practice.

After a little tinkering and watching some other videos I have managed to learn how to load the complete character.

Is it possible to export sound and audio? I have exported audio from other games in the past with umodel but its not seeming to work with this game.

@rcsinger: If I remember correctly, the game is using wwise audio, which is not supported by umodel. You need to use other tools, like fmodel, but their usage is out of scope of this forum.
