Hello,

I am trying to add new icons in game in Client: Ertheia.
The unmodel works to extract the textures from Icon.utx but Unreal Engine fail to load it.

So i create a new texture pack in Unreal Engine and added my custom icons and saved, encrypt it and put it in Textures in Lineage 2 but it show "black icon". Any idea what i am doing wrong? Do i need a custom Unreal Engine build?

Gildor, please share your opinion with me.

What software did you name "Unreal Engine" here? And what did you try to load - tga files into the game?

Dear Gildor,

1) I am using Unmodel to extract textures from Icon.utx from Lineage 2 newest client version.

2) I take this .tga files that i extract with your tool and move it in UnrealEd patched.

3) I save a new file Example.utx

4) I encrypt this file with l2encdec -121

5) I place it in my Game client for load my new icon in game.


My problem is it doesn't work to load it.. i see "black icon in game". Any idea why?

It is UnrealEngine2Runtime, are you fooling around? When you write in that topic "патченый UnrealEd и сохраняется" you didn't know what you write about?

Did i do something wrong? it feels you are irritated about something...

Ok, no problem.

How can i extract all images from a UTX to TGA?

Just select the package in UI ("Choose a package to open" window) and then push "export" button.

If you wanna tips for Lineage II icons are pretty easy,
First open L2Tool (yeah yeah !)
Open your UTX (icon.utx)
And press "L2 -> UnrealEd"
It will ask you to save UTX somewhere else, Save it as Icon_erteia.utx
Now you will be able to open in Unreal engine 2004 (with Gildor Patch)
And you will see that EACH icon is "32x32" and compressed as "DXT1" so always follow Smiley
(This work for any Lineage II texture)
and that allow you to extract texture for port remake, recolor, see ow it work Smiley
That how I can do that in C3 :



So to make your icon that pretty simple (if you wanna from ground)
Do any icon as 32x32 TGA or DDS (DXT1)
Import it over Unreal ED with Gildor patch save it (without compresse that not necessary but try both)
Verify you name if that black icon and nothing when you try to move it that one of the following :

Wrong UTX / Icon name  (NameOfUtx.NameOfIcon)
Without Gildor tool you can have that error if that not compressed so not readable by L2
Double check compression (if that not DXT1 when you will drag the item that use that icon it will be conrupted Smiley)
