Game: The Pathless (EGS page)
UE4 version: 4.25

Skeletal meshes, textures and animations works fine with the latest umodel build (1437 at the moment). Though there are not many actual textures in the game, almost all objects are using quite complex materials instead. Static meshes works fine with specific umodel build (link), you need to use game specific override option.

iOS and Mac versions of the game are using "frozen index" pak format, unsupported by umodel. You need to extract assets first with official unrealpak tool from 4.25 engine - for example, you can grab it from this topic ("Alternative tools for paks" section).

Some samples with static meshes: link

Abzu also had non-working static meshes.

@Gildor: Indeed, but it seems they don't work due to different issues in both cases. Not that it worth investigating or anything though.

Nice!
i only have the iOS and macOS versions of the game though, and both of them are using "frozen index" pak format.
with this in mind i tested the build with only the macOS version, and it couldn't read the format.

@maobo_seihan: I've updated the first post with related information. Alternatively, you can use quickbms script from this post for extraction, which was written specificially for apple versions of this game.

Hello spiritovod, I just tried your specific umodel build on Static meshes, but it gives me some error message (i've also use  game specific override option).

Here is the message :

appMalloc: size=-2029091096 (total=6 Mbytes) <- FArray::Empty: -1874115169 x 24 <- TArray::Serialize: 0/0 <- FStaticMeshLODModel4<< <- TArray::Serialize: 2/4 <- UStaticMesh4::Serialize <- LoadObject: StaticMesh4'BearStatueRock.BearStatueRock', pos=AF3ED, ver=518/0 (unversioned), game=ue4.25 <- UObject::EndLoad <- LoadWholePackage: /Game/Environment/Architecture/BearStatueRock/BearStatueRock.uasset <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main: umodel_build=1544 based

I try to open the same static meshes ["BearStatueRock"] as in the message in order to confirm the error... . I think this error comes from umodel build. I am using the latest "1544". Could you, if possible, share the 1437 build (with SDL2.dll file) so that I can try to open these Static meshes.

Thanking you in advance   Smiley

@ravio_dragmire: Apparently you didn't use proper override, which is "Unreal engine 4 -> Pathless" in this case.
