Im guessing the new demo has been updated to another version of Unreal or something, because I can open the paks, but it crashes when loading a file.

any chance spiritovod could look at the files?

The game is using custom materials and originally they were not supported in specific build (causing crashes), but topic starter didn't bother to provide minimum info about compatibility with umodel. The game should be supported now in updated build from this topic, you need to use game specific override. For general limitations and possible issues please read this topic.
