I think there was a some file from other game but with the same name as in GOW3. For example - textures.tfc from other game. Umodel did found this file and tried to use it, but its data were incorrest (for GOW3) and umodel were crashed.
YOU SHOULD TAKE AN ATTENTION TO THE UMODEL'S ERROR MESSAGES!

Not yet. I will do this, but do not expect this soon. This issue is relative to the 2 games only - TRON: Evolution and GOW3 (which is not yet released).

Guys, what and how to unpack Data0000, Data0001 .... wxPirs-1.1.exe not unpack! Help!
Maybe someone knows where there is unzipped resources?

Have you got everything, Gears beta launcher and the update that downloads from xboxlive? (I think it around 500mb) gears 2 had a few files that wxPirs-1.1.exe couldn't open, but it shouldn't stop you from getting the assets from the .xxx files.

I was just wondering is there any reason the textures export at 1024x1024 instead of 2048x2048? The textures in Gears 1 (and I think 2 also) exported at that resolution. When you use these textures in Unreal they don't look that great. The marcus emissive map is off also. Not saying that any of these problems are umodels fault because I have no idea how this program works. I'm just wondering if you know the reason for this.

That's not an error. Read following technical articles if you want more info:

In other words - Unreal engine may drop a few mip levels when cooking content according to engine settings.

In the Unreal Viewer load the texture you want press Ctrl L and Ctrl G to flatten the lighting, zoom the texture to where it looks good and screen grab the bottm left, middle and right, same with the middle and top parts of the texture and merge them in photoshop, resize the image to 2048, Done.

Why do you want to be a shaman? Umodel has texture export, it is performed in maximal available texture resolution. It would be silly for me to downscale textures while exporting!

I'm trying to figure out how you guys was able to get the files. I downloaded the beta to my xbox 360 and copied to my usb drive. I was able to open the Data files but then i just have one single large file. What do I do next?

Gildor,

I noticed that Medal of Honor 2010 also has additive animations and, when selected, the mesh is not recognizable.  Would it be fair to say that if you can fix the additive animations that you mention here for GOW3, it will work for MOH as well?

There are a few issues:
  • most human animations has wrong head position - I will fix this later
  • additive animations are not working (these animations has "ADD_" prefix in their names)
  • GOW3 skin textures sometimes has UV scale, this could produce wrong picture (for example - emissive channel sometimes mapped incorrectly)
