@spiritovod

Aha, got it working! Thanks very much.

Although it looks like none of the actual animations from the movesets are really available. It's just all of the generic character lobby animations? Is that right or am I missing something?

Dear bro, pls make tutorial  Grin

When using umodel to load a character's mesh in the production version of Tekken 8, I get the message (umodel there's no visual objects loaded now.) and nothing appears in the preview.
UE5.2 build 1579

Has anyone solved this?

Hi there, I don't know if someone can take a look to this specific texture:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/c5rja68589opnog/T_CH_fac_inner_mouth_CA.rar/file

I used the umodel builds for UE5 but, in this case, I get a message error saying the texture is band and has no mipmaps.

@momo1: It means you're trying to load other asset type, which is not supported by umodel. Use scan and flat view mode to sort and open only compatible assets.

@Darko: Virtual textures are not supported at the moment. You can use fmodel to get them, but it has its own specifics with UE5 games.

I've updated my base post, it should be less confusing now, since full version of the game is out.

While exporting the textures I'm getting this problem It's says export 0/0 And the exported textures don't save anyone else encountered it and does anyone know how to fix it?

Hello!

So, I have been trying to do exactly as Spiritovod described in this post to load the skeleton and then the animations. However, after loading the mesh, and then appending the armature, nothing happens. If I try to append animations, nothing happens either, and I can't browse them using Page Down or Page Up, either. Just in case, I made a small video so you can see it by yourself.
Is it because they really did change something in the last version and loading animations won't work anymore? Or is there a workaround so you can still extract animations and meshes with skeletons and load them in Blender?

Edit: Trying to export individual animations or skeletons doesn't work, even when appending or just opening and exporting. UModel doesn't export anything.

From the video you appended most likely the "wrong" skeleton since it was only 5 kb, while the other was like 139kb.
But other than that, did you press Ctrl+A after appending skeleton and then the animation? Otherwise it won't appear.

It was already pointed out but there're just a handfull of animations viewable all the others are somewhere else in another format, just like tekken 7/soul calibur 6
You can't export the skeleton by itself, and if you try with the animation it'll tell ya that it's missing the skeleton so you'd be back to square 1

Yes, I tried appending multiple skeletons, hoping that any of those would work. I appended the same one that Spiritovod had appended on his image, using the same model, but it still didn't do anything different. I also did press Ctrl+A multiple times, but it just won't do anything.

I suspect it has to be a later update or something because I did follow all the steps multiple times and read the entire thread, yet I was unable to manage it.

I've checked and apparently the only thing that has changed is demo version - now it doesn't use weird doubled packages and it works like full game in terms of compatibility. The rest is still the same since my base post on the first page.

@LegnaX: Like Ehlyon already pointed out, you've appended incorrect asset instead of skeleton (AB_* assets are not even skeletons to begin with). If you're not sure, take a look at umodel logs (background window) - if skeleton is loaded, it would be written in logs like in case of other supported assets like meshes or textures. But your overall approach is correct.

Hi all,

Not sure if there's still issues with certain files, but if I try to Extract All from the game folder in the latest UE5_materials build (Jul 18 2024) I get the following error:

Quote
Memory: bad allocation size -667418568 bytes
appMalloc: size=-667418568 (total=310 Mbytes) <- FArray::Empty: 453443591 x 8 <- HandleTArray <- CTypeInfo::SerializeUnversionedProperties4: Type=UMaterialInstanceConstant <- UObject::Serialize <- LoadObject: MaterialInstanceConstant'BlackPen_CharacterView_Level.BlackPen_Character_PreviewMat_Animated_6', pos=66D3, ver=527/0, game=ue5.2 <- UObject::EndLoad <- LoadWholePackage: /Game/BlackPen/CharacterViewer/BlackPen_CharacterView_Level.umap <- ExportPackages <- UIMenuItem::HandleCommand <- UIMenu::Popup <- UIBaseDialog::WndProc <- UIBaseDialog::CustomMessageLoop <- UIBaseDialog::ShowDialog: modal=1, title="Choose a package to open" <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main: umodel_build=1579 based fix58

After resorting to going folder by folder, I've then encountered further errors:

Quote
FTexturePlatformData<< <- UTexture2D::Serialize4 <- UTexture2D::Serialize <- LoadObject: Texture2D'T_CH_dog_bdl_1p_bandage_OBD.T_CH_dog_bdl_1p_bandage_OBD', pos=5BA, ver=527/0, game=ue5.2 <- UObject::EndLoad <- LoadWholePackage: /Game/Character/Item/model/unique/dog/full_body/dog_bdf_1p/textures/T_CH_dog_bdl_1p_bandage_OBD.uasset <- ExportPackages <- UIMenuItem::HandleCommand <- UIMenu::Popup <- UIBaseDialog::WndProc44088

There's also some random crashes on larger folders, but it's proved difficult to catch the error message as it doesn't stay open to copy and quits entirely.

--- Edit:

I've also just received the following when attempting to extract the Game\Lobby folder as a whole:

Quote
Serializing behind stopper (14CB7C+2 > 14CB66)
FIOStoreFile::Serialize <- FArchive::ByteOrderSerialize <- FUnversionedHeader::Load <- CTypeInfo::SerializeUnversionedProperties4: Type=FRuntimeVirtualTextureParameterValue <- HandleTArray <- CTypeInfo::SerializeUnversionedProperties4: Type=UMaterialInstanceConstant <- UObject::Serialize <- LoadObject: MaterialInstanceConstant'ONL_Lobby_Geom.MI_ONL01_GateA_GlowC_FrameC_Animated_13', pos=1D75BE, ver=527/0, game=ue5.2 <- UObject::EndLoad <- LoadWholePackage: /Game/Lobby/Maps/Stage/ONL_Lobby_Geom.umap <- ExportPackages <- UIMenuItem::HandleCommand <- UIMenu::Popup <- UIBaseDialog::WndProc <- UIBaseDialog::CustomMessageLoop <- UIBaseDialog::ShowDialog: modal=1, title="Choose a package to open" <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main: umodel_build=1579 based fix58

---

Any guidance appreciated Smiley

@OGarvey: It should be fixed now in the updated build. I've explicitly disabled dynamic materials, as they're not supported anyway at the moment.

when i try open this mod,I choose ue5.1.
But I cant open it, have some imformation:

global.utoc/ucas not found! Put them in the folder with packages

FIOStoreFileSystem::LoadGlobalContainer <- TokArchive <- RegisterGameFile: D:\Edge Download\Allfemale_Latex_V1.2-189-1-2-1712007668/Allfemale_Latex_P.pak <- ScanGameDirectory <- appSetRootDirectory: dir=D:\Edge Download\Allfemale_Latex_V1.2-189-1-2-1712007668 <- Main: umodel_build=1579 based fix61

I try open this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/tekken8/mods/189?tab=files
(version = 1.2)

@0083star: The error is kind of self-explanatory. Every game with io store packages (utoc/ucas files) requires global container for it to work, including all related tools. If you want to load mod packages separately, copy files for global container, mentioned in the error, from the game to the folder with mod. And make sure you're choosing correct engine version, as all game versions since official release are using 5.2 engine.
