I recently downloaded and extracted BnS using umodel without any issues.

If you add all files from CookedPC beware that one of them will halt the extraction progress, I cannot remember exactly what its called but it does have the word 'core' in its name.

By going down the list and adding files by blocks at a time will highlight the file you need to avoid.

The only mystery left for me is the lack of base face texture for JinF.

I also extracted LocalCookedPC because there seemed to be different files.

Hi! Welcome here!
What happens when you're opening files from recent game version?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I really appreciate it. Smiley

Well, to be honest, most of the human characters load fine. It's the creature characters that have problems.

I've exported the entire batch of files, searched for desired model names with their upk number, then returned to upk manager to make sure they were loading/animating properly.

It appears that many of the creatures do not have textures or animations.

The log file dump is dumping 0KB of data... not sure why that's happening.

The game is located on an external harddrive, and the umodel is located within the game's contents

Note: I've already overrided game detection to Blade and Soul

There is a notify.log that dumps the info from the console. I use it to try and debug what's happening (Despite me knowing very little about coding)

Anyway, I'll take a screenshot of the console errors when I get home, I'm at another place right now that is not my computer.

Which creature char are you trying to export? I have exported most of them without issues. If you can give me the UPK number, I can probably have a look. Also if you are looking for textures and animations, it is better to use the 'export' function rather than using Ctrl X in the viewer

Hello, I'm not sure where to ask this but I'm having trouble doing anything with the UPKs using umodel.

I downloaded the latest version of umodel (as of June 17th 2017), ran in administrator's mode and override game selection to Blade and Soul.

In the GUI I can see the package name (I'm using 00016952.upk as an example) but when I try to open or extract the UPK I get an error message like so:

 MapTypeName: unknown type '00016952_3'
MapTypeName <- FPropertyTag<< <- CTypeInfo::SerializeProps <- UObject::Serialize <- UTexture3::Serialize <- UTexture2D::Serialize <- LoadObject:Texture2D'00016952.60074_JinF_col1_N', pos=68407, ver=573/1, game=bns <- UObject::EndLoad <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main:umodel_version=596

Can anyone help me fix this?

Hello,

Would Dropbox suffice? https://www.dropbox.com/s/bmeh17cmpdkhvl7/00016952.upk?dl=0

EDIT: I think I have found out the problem and my mistake. Perhaps since I only copied the UPK file from the source folder into another folder maybe it requires other UPK files in the same folder for it to be extracted properly. I will test this whenever I get the chance.

Fixed. There was a bug in data, added a workaround for it.

It does. Although I haven't updated the game for a while, tool supports extraction of animations

You just need to learn how to use umodel Smiley Animation should be loaded and attached by hands. There's no automatic animation loading for UE3 games.
